Hi! Sorry I have not written for a long time. I have been working at a restaurant as an apprentice for Chef Pauly, an incredible chef. I have learned so much.
I've learned about working in a busy kitchen and I've learned a lot of recipes for coconut mango shrimp, red snapper tacos, pineapple meatballs, stuffed mushrooms, pasta, ravioli, lasagne, and a bunch of other stuff. This cooking experience has been very important in my journey to becoming a better cook. Now I am even more sure about my decision of wanting to become a chef. Weirdly enough, I just love the stress in the kitchen when there are a gazillion orders in. Something that has also been interesting to me is learning how to plate everything in a beautiful and appetizing way. Not only was I able to cook dinner for the customers and do five hours of prep, I also got to wait on tables.
Every night was incredibly busy. The chef is great, instead of using spoons and spatulas to saute veggies or flip steak, he throws it up in the air and catches it in the frying pan, and the speed he moves at is unbelievable. It has been an excellent learning opportunity.
